| CVE-2026-103975 | 1 Appium | 1 Appium | 2026-10-22 | 6.5 Medium |
| Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol. Prior to 7.2.6, @appium/support ZIP extraction accepts an archive entry that creates a symbolic link to a location outside the extraction directory and then accepts a later regular-file entry whose legitimate name resolves through that link. The lexical containment check examines entry names without validating the symlink target or the real destination, so an attacker-controlled archive can write files to arbitrary locations writable by the Appium process. This is distinct from the earlier parent-directory entry-name traversal fixed in 7.0.6 because the bypass uses no parent-directory or absolute entry name. Depending on the writable destination, the arbitrary file write can overwrite configuration, startup scripts, or executables and lead to code execution. This issue is fixed in version 7.2.6. | ||||
| CVE-2026-110767 | 1 Coderamp-labs | 1 Gitingest | 2026-10-22 | 7.5 High |
| Gitingest through 0.3.1 contains a symlink following vulnerability in ingest_query single-file blob ingestion that allows unauthenticated attackers to read server files by submitting symlink blob URLs. Attackers can commit a symlink to a public repository and submit its blob URL, causing the server to return any file the service user can read, up to 10 MB. | ||||
| CVE-2026-112940 | 1 Tox-dev | 1 Filelock | 2026-10-22 | 7.1 High |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 3.20.4 until 4.2.1, ReadWriteLock let SQLite reopen the database and side files by name; on POSIX systems an attacker with rename access in a non-sticky parent can swap those names to cause overwrite or unlink operations, while a writable adjacent hot journal is additionally required for attacker-chosen content overwrites. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-112934 | 1 Tox-dev | 1 Filelock | 2026-10-22 | 6.1 Medium |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 4.0.0 until 4.2.1, SoftReadWriteLock refreshes holder records by name, allowing another local user with rename access to the lock directory to replace a record with a named pipe and stall the lock, or under a permissive hard-link policy to link a reachable target file and cause the lock user to write through it. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-106566 | 1 Imagemagick | 1 Imagemagick | 2026-10-22 | 4 Medium |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32, delegate symlink cleanup does not check the MAGICK_SHRED_PASSES environment variable, allowing a local privileged workflow to overwrite a file with random data. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-32. | ||||
| CVE-2026-114097 | 1 Dulwich Project | 1 Dulwich | 2026-10-22 | 7.8 High |
| Dulwich from 0.23.1 before 1.2.8 contains a path traversal vulnerability in CommitFilter._apply_index_filter() that allows attackers to write files outside the working directory via symlinks persisting between commits. Attackers can craft a repository where an ancestor commit's symlink redirects a descendant commit's file writes during filter_branch, enabling code execution by writing into .git/hooks. | ||||
| CVE-2026-76496 | 1 Cisco | 1 Expressway Series | 2026-10-22 | 7 High |
| As part of Cisco's ongoing commitment to proactive security and product quality, the Cisco Expressway Series software engineering team has conducted a comprehensive internal security review. This review resulted in software hardening releases that address multiple internally discovered vulnerabilities. | CVE-2026-113724 | 1 Pypa | 1 Virtualenv | 2026-10-22 | 4.5 Medium |
| virtualenv is a tool for creating isolated virtual python environments. Prior to 21.14.9, the safe_delete() deletion error handler responds to a failed removal by reading mode bits with os.lstat(path) and applying owner-write permission with os.chmod(path, ...), which follows a symlink. A planted link inside a read-only directory can therefore cause a victim-owned target outside the destination that is initially not writable by the invoking user to become broadly writable before the retry fails, provided that user owns the target and can change its mode. Another account can use the widened mode only if it can traverse the target's parent directories; root does not reach the demonstrated failure path, and the operation does not itself read the target. This issue is fixed in version 21.14.9. | ||||
| CVE-2026-112912 | 1 Tox-dev | 1 Filelock | 2026-10-21 | 2.5 Low |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 3.32.6 until 4.2.1, SoftFileLock can follow a swapped symbolic link during the conditional os.access writability check for a node without its owner-write bit, allowing another local user on a platform and directory configuration that follows the link to infer whether a chosen path exists and is writable from the observable acquisition result. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-112914 | 1 Tox-dev | 1 Filelock | 2026-10-21 | 5.3 Medium |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 4.1.0 until 4.2.1, SoftFileLock can restore a stale marker by name after moving it aside, allowing another local user with rename access in a non-sticky lock directory to swap in a symbolic link and, on a runtime that follows the link and a same-filesystem target, make the lock user hard-link one of its files into the lock directory. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. | ||||
| CVE-2025-71437 | 1 Astral | 1 Uv | 2026-10-21 | 6.5 Medium |
| Astral uv before 0.8.22 contains a path traversal vulnerability in source distribution (sdist) tar extraction that allows a specially crafted sequence of symlinks to redirect file writes outside the intended extraction prefix. Attackers can publish a malicious sdist that, when installed by a victim, writes arbitrary files to filesystem locations outside the installation prefix. | ||||
| CVE-2026-112936 | 1 Tox-dev | 1 Filelock | 2026-10-21 | 6.1 Medium |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 3.20.4 until 4.0.9, ReadWriteLock and AsyncReadWriteLock versions from 3.20.4 resolve the lock path and pass it to SQLite without rejecting a final symbolic link, allowing another local user who can create names in the lock directory to redirect database creation and locking or split mutual exclusion between targets. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.9. | ||||
| CVE-2026-111045 | 1 Anshupriyan | 1 Cli-bridge | 2026-10-21 | 7.5 High |
| CLI Bridge provides filesystem access within a workspace root. Prior to 0.0.2, a dangling symlink pointing outside the workspace root bypasses resolveSafePath when fs.realpathSync throws ENOENT for a nonexistent target. The fallback resolves only the parent directory and returns the symlink path as safe, so write_file follows the link and can write arbitrary files outside the workspace root. This issue is fixed in version 0.0.2. | ||||
| CVE-2026-113716 | 1 Pypa | 1 Virtualenv | 2026-10-21 | 4.5 Medium |
| virtualenv is a tool for creating isolated virtual python environments. Prior to 21.14.9, the builtin creator calls ensure_dir() for executable, library, and package directories, and ensure_dir() accepts an existing symlink to a directory because exists() follows it. Interpreter creation, seed installation, and activation generation then write through the linked parent outside the requested destination when another local account prepared the tree and the invoking user can access the target. The --clear option removes the planted tree first, while ordinary creation reaches it; arbitrary attacker-selected output bytes are not established. This issue is fixed in version 21.14.9. | ||||
| CVE-2026-106578 | 1 Imagemagick | 1 Imagemagick | 2026-10-21 | 5.9 Medium |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-31 and 6.9.13-56, a crafted image can cause an invalid memory free in the MVG decoder and crash the process. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-31 and 6.9.13-56. | ||||
| CVE-2025-26625 | 1 Git-lfs | 1 Git-lfs | 2026-10-21 | 8.1 High |
| Git LFS is a Git extension for versioning large files. In Git LFS versions 0.5.2 through 3.7.0, when populating a Git repository's working tree with the contents of Git LFS objects, certain Git LFS commands may write to files visible outside the current Git working tree if symbolic or hard links exist which collide with the paths of files tracked by Git LFS. The git lfs checkout and git lfs pull commands do not check for symbolic links before writing to files in the working tree, allowing an attacker to craft a repository containing symbolic or hard links that cause Git LFS to write to arbitrary file system locations accessible to the user running these commands. As well, when the git lfs checkout and git lfs pull commands are run in a bare repository, they could write to files visible outside the repository. The vulnerability is fixed in version 3.7.1. As a workaround, support for symlinks in Git may be disabled by setting the core.symlinks configuration option to false, after which further clones and fetches will not create symbolic links. However, any symbolic or hard links in existing repositories will still provide the opportunity for Git LFS to write to their targets. | ||||
| CVE-2026-55480 | 1 Openprinting | 1 Cups | 2026-10-20 | 5.7 Medium |
| OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.20, copy_model() in scheduler/ipp.c creates a predictable TempDir/<connection-number>.ppd path in an lp-group-writable directory and opens it as root without O_EXCL or O_NOFOLLOW. Exploitation requires an lp-group process able to write that directory to predict the connection-derived name and plant a symlink before the root open, while a privileged add-printer or modify-printer operation using a model PPD triggers copy_model(). The reporter treats an existing lp foothold and the privileged operation as distinct prerequisites, while the maintainer assesses high privileges because installing the relevant filter or administering the printer requires root or print-administrator access. If the race succeeds, the root scheduler follows the symlink and truncates or overwrites a root-writable target with generated PPD data, compromising file integrity or availability. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.20. | ||||
| CVE-2026-102204 | 1 Microsoft | 2 Defender For Endpoint, Windows Subsystem For Linux | 2026-10-20 | 7.8 High |
| Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows Subsystem for Linux allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. | ||||
| CVE-2026-97790 | 1 Microsoft | 11 Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 25h2 and 8 more | 2026-10-20 | 5.5 Medium |
| Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows Container Isolation FS Filter Driver (unionfs.sys) allows an authorized attacker to perform tampering locally. | ||||
| CVE-2026-107807 | 2 0xjacky, Nginxui | 2 Nginx-ui, Nginx Ui | 2026-10-20 | 8.8 High |
| Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. From 2.0.0 until 2.5.0, Nginx UI accepts the Node.Secret master credential through the node_secret query parameter in HTTP and WebSocket authentication paths instead of requiring the X-Node-Secret header. The credential can consequently appear in access logs, proxy logs, browser history, Referer headers, configuration URLs, and deployment environment data. A party that obtains the secret can bypass normal password, JWT, session, and second-factor checks and obtain persistent administrative API access, including access to configuration and secret material. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.0. | ||||
