CVSS v3.1 |
| IBM Concert 1.0 through 3.0.0 is vulnerable to cross-site scripting. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to embed arbitrary JavaScript code in the Web UI thus altering the intended functionality potentially leading to credentials disclosure within a trusted session. |
| IBM Concert 1.0 through 3.0.0 uses weaker than expected cryptographic algorithms that could allow an attacker to decrypt highly sensitive information. |

drm/amdgpu: correct reservation fence slots for userq per-vm BOs eviction
It fixes both the move overflow and the eviction fence add for
evicting these per-vm BOs. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing: Do not initialize tracefs work if tracing is disabled
If trace buffer allocation fails during early boot (e.g. in
early_trace_init() -> allocate_trace_buffers()), tracing_disabled is
left set to 1 and the global trace array events list remains
uninitialized.
Later during boot, tracer_init_tracefs() (invoked via fs_initcall)
queues tracerfs_init_work asynchronously without checking if tracing was
disabled. When tracer_init_tracefs_work_func() runs, it calls
event_trace_init() and init_tracer_tracefs(&global_trace, NULL)
unconditionally. This leads to __find_event_file() dereferencing an
uninitialized tr->events list, causing an early boot NULL pointer

ntfs: fix resident conversion in ntfs_new_attr_flags
When setting sparse/compressed flags on a resident attribute, the
function skipped the resident-to-non-resident conversion and
terminated. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm cache: fix issue with background work locking
dm cache used a rw_semaphore for background_work_lock. Write locks on
rw_semaphores have strict owner semantics, but there was no guarantee
that the process that locked background_work_lock was the same process
that unlocked it. This can be easily seen using a kernel compiled with
CONFIG_DEBUG_RWSEMS. Given a dm cache device <cache>, run: 'dmsetup
suspend <cache> && dmsetup resume <cache>'. This will trigger a kernel
warning:
DEBUG_RWSEMS_WARN_ON((rwsem_owner(sem) != current) && !rwsem_test_oflags(sem, RWSEM_NONSPINNABLE))
triggered by cache_resume(). To fix this, switch from a rw_semaphore to
a spinlock and a wait queue. dm cache already has a wait queue and
associated counter, migration_wait and nr_allocated_migrations, that was
getting woken up when background work was getting completed, but wasn't
actually used by anything. This is replaced by the background_work queue
and counter. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
x86/hyperv: Avoid using per-cpu output page in hv_apicid_to_vp_index()
hv_apicid_to_vp_index() currently uses the per-cpu hypercall input
and output pages. This function is called when running in VTL2 and
when running in an SEV-SNP CoCo VM with no paravisor. In the former
case, the output page is allocated, but in the latter case it is
not, so the hypervisor stores the output VP index in memory that has
not been allocated by the guest.
Fix this by using the input page for both input and output. The
hypercall has very small input and output, so sharing the same
page for both is straightforward. An alternative fix is to
allocate the per-cpu output page when running in an SEV-SNP CoCo
guest, but this uses significantly more memory, particularly
with larger vCPUs counts. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pid_namespace: make zap_pid_ns_processes() freezable
When the init of a pid namespace exits, zap_pid_ns_processes() waits
until all other pids in the namespace are freed. A tracer outside the
namespace that does not reap its traced zombies keeps those pids
allocated, so this wait has no upper bound, and while it lasts every
suspend attempt fails:
Freezing user space processes failed after 20.006 seconds (2 tasks refusing to freeze, wq_busy=0):
Neither wait is freezable. The first loop sleeps in do_wait(), which
returns -ERESTARTSYS on the freezer's fake signal; the loop then clears
TIF_SIGPENDING and waits again without ever freezing. The final loop
sleeps in TASK_INTERRUPTIBLE, and since nothing clears TIF_SIGPENDING
there, schedule() returns immediately after the first freeze attempt
and the task spins until the wait ends.
Sleep in TASK_INTERRUPTIBLE | TASK_FREEZABLE in do_wait(), so that the
freezer can freeze tasks waiting there directly, and in TASK_IDLE |
TASK_FREEZABLE in the final loop, like coredump_task_exit() does.
This was hit with Chromium-based browsers: crashpad ptrace-attaches the
threads of a crashed renderer, which is a pid namespace init, and does
not reap those killed during the dump. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv4: free inet_opt and ireq_opt after an RCU grace period
tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() transfers ownership of ireq->ireq_opt to the
child socket (newinet->inet_opt) without copying it.
Another cpu can concurrently process a retransmitted SYN for the same
request socket, and send a SYNACK from tcp_check_req().
tcp_v4_send_synack() and inet_csk_route_req() read ireq->ireq_opt
under rcu_read_lock() only, and ip_build_and_send_pkt() and
ip_options_build() then read opt->optlen twice.
Note that the SYNACK timer itself is not an issue: it holds a
reference on its request socket, and inet_csk_reqsk_queue_drop()
calls timer_delete_sync() before the child can be freed.
Since commit 079096f103fa ("tcp/dccp: install syn_recv requests
into ehash table"), request sockets are processed without holding
the listener lock, so nothing prevents the child socket from being
freed while the SYNACK is still being built. TCP child sockets do
not have SOCK_RCU_FREE, and inet_sock_destruct() frees inet_opt
with a plain kfree(), leading to a use-after-free in
ip_options_build().
A similar issue exists with request socket migration
(net.ipv4.tcp_migrate_req=1, or a BPF_SK_REUSEPORT_SELECT_OR_MIGRATE
program). reqsk_timer_handler() clones the request socket with
inet_reqsk_clone(), so that the old request socket and its clone
share the same ireq_opt, then reqsk_migrate_reset() clears the
pointer in the old one. Another cpu holding a reference on the old
request socket can still be using these options (sending a SYNACK,
or creating a child in tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock()) when the clone is
freed, and tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor() also uses a plain kfree().
Readers already use RCU, and other paths replacing inet_opt
(do_ip_setsockopt(), cipso_v4_sock_setattr()...) already use
kfree_rcu(). Use kfree_rcu() in inet_sock_destruct() and
tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor() as well.
IPv6 is not affected by the first issue, because tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock()
duplicates the options. tcp_v6_reqsk_destructor() has the same
migration issue with ipv6_opt, which is only set by CALIPSO. This
will be addressed in a separate patch. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: ati_remote2 - fix type confusion in device attribute handlers
Previously, the channel_mask and mode_mask attributes were registered on
the parent usb_device via sysfs_create_group(). When commit b20d6bf8014b
("Input: ati-remote2 - use driver core to instantiate device
attributes") converted the driver to let the driver core manage them via
dev_groups in struct usb_driver, the attributes moved to the bound
usb_interface devices, but the show and store callbacks were not updated
accordingly.
As a result, the callbacks still invoked to_usb_device() on a device
pointer belonging to a struct usb_interface, producing an invalid
usb_device pointer.
Use to_usb_interface() directly in the attribute handlers to obtain the
interface and its driver data. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: udp: Create exceptions before socket matching
Currently, when ICMPv6 Packet Too Big and Redirect Message packets are
locally delivered and quote a UDP packet, an exception is only created
in the IPv6 exception cache if the kernel can match the UDP packet to an
existing socket.
This behavior allows off-path attackers to conduct a side-channel attack
on the exception cache in order to discover the ephemeral port used by a
connected UDP socket.
Commit 4785305c05b2 ("ipv6: use siphash in rt6_exception_hash()") and
commit a00df2caffed ("ipv6: make exception cache less predictible") tried
to mitigate such attacks by making it harder for attackers to discover
hash collisions in the exception cache and by randomizing the number of
exceptions a hash bucket can hold, respectively. Unfortunately, both of
the mitigations can be bypassed.
Instead, mitigate such attacks by always creating an exception, even
before trying to find a matching socket. Do that by calling
ip6_update_pmtu() and ip6_redirect(), the helpers used when the quoted
packet did not originate from a socket.
This means that guesses (right or wrong) from an off-path attacker will
always result in an exception being created or updated in the cache that
the attacker can observe.
Pass the ifindex of the ingress device and the default uid, in a similar
fashion to icmpv6_err(). Unlike IPv4, an oif of 0 would not match any
nexthop in ip6_redirect_nh_match() and no exception would be created in
response to a Redirect Message.
Note that this does not allow attackers to create exceptions that they
could not create before, as both helpers can already be reached with
little to no validation. For example, by sending an ICMPv6 error that
quotes an ICMPv6 Echo Reply or one that quotes a UDP source port that
matches a wildcard socket.
Also note that in the good case (matched socket) the above scheme comes
at the cost of an extra route lookup, as the no socket helpers perform
their own lookup before the one performed by ip6_sk_update_pmtu() /
ip6_sk_redirect(). When the two resolve to different nexthops, it also
results in two exceptions being created for the same destination IP. One
in the exception cache of the nexthop resolved by the no socket helpers
and another in the exception cache of the nexthop used by the socket. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
riscv: errata: select RISCV_ALTERNATIVE_EARLY for THEAD GHOSTWRITE
errata_probe_ghostwrite() only marks the CPU as vulnerable when it is
called at the RISCV_ALTERNATIVES_EARLY_BOOT stage, and the mitigation
in ghostwrite_enable_mitigation() only takes effect if the vulnerable
state was recorded before the boot alternatives are patched.
The early boot stage is only executed when CONFIG_RISCV_ALTERNATIVE_EARLY
is enabled, which currently is only selected by ERRATA_THEAD_MAE. In a
kernel built with ERRATA_THEAD_GHOSTWRITE=y but ERRATA_THEAD_MAE=n, the
early alternatives never run, so ghostwrite_state is never set to
VULNERABLE: ghostwrite_enable_mitigation() returns false, xtheadvector
remains enabled, and sysfs reports "Not affected" on a vulnerable
T-Head C9xx CPU.
Select RISCV_ALTERNATIVE_EARLY from ERRATA_THEAD_GHOSTWRITE so that the
vulnerability is detected in the early boot stage and the default
mitigation is applied. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv4: stop route notification sizing when nexthop group shrinks
Commit 680aea08e78c ("net: ipv4: Emit notification when fib
hardware flags are changed") added an RCU-only fib_nlmsg_size() call
for asynchronous hardware flag notifications.
fib_nlmsg_size() checks fib_info_num_path() before each iteration,
then fib_info_nhc() independently reloads nh->nh_grp. If
RTM_NEWNEXTHOP replaces a group with fewer paths between those loads,
fib_info_nhc() returns NULL and fib_nexthop_nlmsg_size() dereferences
it.
Stop sizing when the indexed path is absent. Nexthop groups are
dense, so the current snapshot has no later path. |
| A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter: nf_tables component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation.
Addition and removal of rules from chain bindings within the same transaction causes leads to use-after-free.
We recommend upgrading past commit f15f29fd4779be8a418b66e9d52979bb6d6c2325. |
| A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's TUN/TAP functionality. This issue could allow a local user to bypass network filters and gain unauthorized access to some resources. The original patches fixing CVE-2023-1076 are incorrect or incomplete. The problem is that the following upstream commits - a096ccca6e50 ("tun: tun_chr_open(): correctly initialize socket uid"), - 66b2c338adce ("tap: tap_open(): correctly initialize socket uid"), pass "inode->i_uid" to sock_init_data_uid() as the last parameter and that turns out to not be accurate. |
| An issue was discovered in drivers/usb/storage/ene_ub6250.c for the ENE UB6250 reader driver in the Linux kernel before 6.2.5. An object could potentially extend beyond the end of an allocation. |
| In the Linux kernel, pick_next_rt_entity() may return a type confused entry, not detected by the BUG_ON condition, as the confused entry will not be NULL, but list_head.The buggy error condition would lead to a type confused entry with the list head,which would then be used as a type confused sched_rt_entity,causing memory corruption. |
| An out-of-bounds(OOB) memory access vulnerability was found in vmwgfx driver in drivers/gpu/vmxgfx/vmxgfx_kms.c in GPU component in the Linux kernel with device file '/dev/dri/renderD128 (or Dxxx)'. This flaw allows a local attacker with a user account on the system to gain privilege, causing a denial of service(DoS). |
| An out-of-bounds memory read flaw was found in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem in how a user calls the bpf_tail_call function with a key larger than the max_entries of the map. This flaw allows a local user to gain unauthorized access to data. |
| A use-after-free flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NFC core functionality due to a race condition between kobject creation and delete. This vulnerability allows a local attacker with CAP_NET_ADMIN privilege to leak kernel information. |
