CVE-2026-88265 1 Redhat 4 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird and 1 more 2026-09-15 5.6 Medium
A flaw was found in crun. After pivot_root, reopening /dev/null for stdio can follow a symlink and attach a host file to container stdio, then change that file's ownership. Affected versions are crun 1.29.1 and earlier. Default configurations that mount a fresh /dev are not exposed. No fixed release is available yet.
CVE-2026-88264 2 Containers, Redhat 5 Crun, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 2 more 2026-09-15 5.6 Medium
A flaw was found in crun. When the container configuration does not give /dev a dedicated mount, terminal setup can redirect /dev/console onto an attacker-controlled path, including via the read-only-rootfs bind-mount fallback. Affected versions are crun 1.29.1 and earlier. Default configurations that mount a fresh /dev are not exposed. No fixed release is available yet.
CVE-2026-82049 1 Python 1 Cpython 2026-09-15 7.1 High
In CPython 3.13 and earlier, the tarfile module's data and tar extraction filters are vulnerable to crafted archives containing a hard link to a symbolic link. Such archives may cause extraction to modify the permissions or modification time of a file outside the destination directory, or expose the contents of that file within the extracted tree.
CVE-2026-50157 1 Auth0 1 Symfony 2026-09-15 6.5 Medium
Auth0 Symfony is a Symfony SDK for Auth0 Authentication and Management APIs. From 5.0.0-BETA0 until 5.9.0, the Authorizer::authenticate() and Authorizer::supports() paths in the Authorizer security authenticator may accept OAuth 2.0 bearer access tokens from the token URL query parameter as well as the Authorization header for protected HTTP routes. Query-string tokens can be recorded in server logs, browser history, or referrer data and then replayed against protected API endpoints. This issue is fixed in version 5.9.0.
CVE-2026-90930 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-09-14 6.8 Medium
File Browser through 2.63.23 applies path rules to the requested lexical path but resolves symbolic links without reapplying rules to the target, allowing authenticated users to bypass deny rules. Attackers can read and overwrite rule-denied files by accessing them through in-scope symbolic link aliases that resolve to denied paths.
CVE-2026-85583 2 B3log, Siyuan 2 Siyuan, Siyuan 2026-09-14 6.5 Medium
SiYuan versions before v3.8.2 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the reader-accessible file-read endpoint that follows symlinks when opening authorized asset paths. Attackers with reader role can request a logical asset under data/assets/ that is a symlink to a file outside the workspace and receive the target file bytes, bypassing workspace boundary restrictions.
CVE-2026-69379 1 Microsoft 10 Windows 11 23h2, Windows 11 23h2, Windows 11 24h2 and 7 more 2026-09-14 7 High
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows NTFS allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
CVE-2026-69425 1 Microsoft 8 Windows 11 23h2, Windows 11 23h2, Windows 11 24h2 and 5 more 2026-09-14 4.7 Medium
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows NTFS allows an authorized attacker to perform tampering locally.
CVE-2026-90616 1 Flatpak 1 Flatpak 2026-09-14 7.4 High
In Flatpak before 1.18.1, a malicious sandboxed app can obtain arbitrary read and write access to files on the host, which can be escalated to arbitrary code execution on the host, a different vulnerability than CVE-2026-76925. Flatpak creates a few app data directories (e.g., /var/cache, /var/data, /var/config, and /var/tmp) in every sandbox on every app launch where, in some cases, components of the path are attacker-controlled. Missing symlink protection can redirect the directories. Some of these directories are bind-mounted by Flatpak by passing the path (e.g., /home/user/.var/app/APP_ID/cache/tmp), which contains attacker-controlled directories (tmp) to bwrap --bind SRC DST. bwrap passes the path on to the kernel, which then follows symlinks. A malicious symlink can point to arbitrary locations on the host and it will become mounted inside the sandbox.
CVE-2026-71645 1 Robotics-star-lab 1 Racer 2026-09-14 7.5 High
An issue in Robotics-STAR-Lab (SYSU STAR Group) RACER Tested affected version: commit abcdef1234567890 allows an attacker to cause a denial of service via the exploration state machine
CVE-2011-1136 2 Debian, Tesseract-ocr 2 Debian Linux, Tesseract Ocr 2026-09-14 4.7 Medium
In tesseract 2.03 and 2.04, an attacker can rewrite an arbitrary user file by guessing the PID and creating a link to the user's file.
CVE-2026-54369 1 Acl Project 1 Acl 2026-09-14 7.1 High
acl before version 2.4.0 contains a symlink traversal vulnerability in the libacl pathname-based functions acl_get_file(), acl_set_file(), acl_extended_file(), and acl_delete_def_file() that allows local attackers to escalate privileges by replacing any pathname component with a symbolic link. Attackers who control any component of a pathname processed by a privileged caller can redirect ACL read or write operations to arbitrary files or directories, enabling unauthorized manipulation of access control lists and local privilege escalation.
CVE-2026-83999 1 Microsoft 8 Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 25h2 and 5 more 2026-09-13 7 High
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows Resilient File System (ReFS) Deduplication Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
CVE-2026-78622 1 Okta 1 Okta Verify For Windows 2026-09-13 6 Medium
The Okta Verify for Windows uninstaller does not verify whether the user data directory is a filesystem junction before deleting its contents with elevated privileges. The delete operation follows the junction target, resulting in recursive deletion of unintended directory contents.
CVE-2026-87766 1 Redhat 3 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird 2026-09-13 8.8 High
A flaw was found in bubblewrap. During sandbox setup, creating files or directories under the new root can follow a parent symlink onto the host via /oldroot, writing attacker-chosen paths outside the sandbox as the launching user. This happens before the sandboxed process starts. This issue is GHSA-pxhw-h44j-8pfx. It is fixed in bubblewrap 0.12.0.
CVE-2026-87910 1 Python 1 Cpython 2026-09-12 5.7 Medium
When tarfile extracts a link on a system that doesn't support links, it falls back to extracting a member from the archive. In this case, the filter function is run twice: once for the extracted member, and once with name set to the location of the link. For one of the calls, the return value was ignored. Instead, the member should be skipped if either call returns None.
CVE-2026-63294 1 Canonical 1 Lxd 2026-09-11 9.9 Critical
A link following vulnerability in LXD allows an attacker to achieve root command execution on the host system. During the import or unpacking of crafted image or backup archives, LXD fails to properly validate and confine the backup.yaml file when it exists as a symbolic link. An attacker can exploit this flaw by providing a malicious archive with a symlinked backup.yaml file, causing LXD to process unconfined configuration metadata and execute arbitrary commands with root privileges.
CVE-2026-89258 1 Gohugo 1 Hugo 2026-09-11 6.3 Medium
Hugo is a static site generator. In versions after v0.123.0 and before v0.165.0, symlinks in parent directories were not dropped during direct resource lookups, allowing path confinement to be bypassed. An attacker who can place — or who convinces a site author to place — a symlink inside a mounted directory (for example, in a locally vendored theme under themes/) can cause functions that perform direct lookups, such as resources.Get and os.ReadFile, to follow that symlink and read files outside the intended project boundaries, disclosing their contents in the built site. Themes mounted as Go modules fetched from GitHub have symlinks stripped on download and are not affected, and multi-directory walks (e.g. content/asset walking) are not affected. This issue is an incomplete-fix follow-up to GHSA-c3wq-j5vh-68rc and GHSA-fw87-fv5r-9fpw; it is fixed in v0.165.0.
CVE-2026-54371 2 Acl Project, Attr Project 2 Acl, Attr 2026-09-11 7.1 High
attr before version 2.6.0 contains a symlink traversal vulnerability in the getfattr and setfattr utilities that allows local attackers to escalate privileges by replacing a pathname component with a symbolic link during directory hierarchy traversal. Attackers who control a pathname component can redirect getfattr and setfattr operations to arbitrary files by substituting a symlink, leading to local privilege escalation when getfattr or setfattr is invoked by a privileged process over an attacker-controlled path.
CVE-2026-69771 1 Microsoft 8 Windows 11 23h2, Windows 11 23h2, Windows 11 24h2 and 5 more 2026-09-10 4.7 Medium
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows Container Manager Service allows an authorized attacker to bypass a security feature locally.
